1) Is the ‘Lost and Found in the Sea’ collection also hand-crocheted?

No, it is not. The ‘Lost and Found in the Sea’ collection is created using a lost-wax casting technique, which is the traditional and popular method commonly used in jewellery industry. Lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue, method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the mold is made, the wax model is melted and drained away.

The majority of the pieces from this collection DO NOT have molds, meaning there is only one piece of such design available (search for one-of-a-kind words). This is what makes them extra special and something I am, as a designer, particularly excited about.

2) How do I look after CHOCO pieces?

Please read the blog post – click here

3) Can I return any of your jewellery?

Yes, you can. The only type of jewellery which CAN NOT be returned is earrings due to hygienic reasons. All pieces from the ‘Lost and Found in the Sea’ for example can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Please read the full T&C here.

4) How do I get an accurate ring size?

How to measure:

  1. Cut a string that is about 6 inches long.

  2. Fold the string around the base of the finger, just below the knuckle.

  3. Mark where the string ends with the pen.

  4. Place the measured string on the ruler with the area marked on your right.

  5. The number closest to the pen mark is the circumference of the ring in millimeters.

5) Does the jewellery come in a branded box?

Yes, it does. You will receive your purchased jewellery in a branded box or pillow box, branded paper bag together with a business card, a leaflet, and hand signed card from me. If you are buying the jewellery for someone else as a gift, you can let me know all the details at the checkout and I can sign a card on your behalf. I can ship it directly to you or to another address. Any questions - please contact me.

6) How do you make your CHOCO jewellery?

Each CHOCO piece is hand-crocheted by me using fine silver* and 9ct or 18ct yellow gold wire. I use a small crochet hook that was given to me when I was 11 – my very first one and the only one I am using at the moment. My early work was made using copper and plated in precious metals. Examples of these works you can still find in Store.

*Fine silver is 99.9 percent pure.

7) How did you come up with the idea of using metal to crochet jewellery?

I was in my last year of BA when I first crocheted metal. It was copper. For one of the projects, I needed to create a structure with certain physical characteristics and I could not come up with the idea of how to make metal look delicate yet durable. That’s probably how it all started, it was a very natural, intuitive process of playing and testing things out. You can read about the final collection, or the Graduate collection here.
